EUDIW Sandbox
Back to the sandbox

Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Finnish EUDIW Sandbox portal at sandbox.eudi-wallet.fi and its organization registration and certificate services.

The sandbox and its purpose

This is an independent testing environment for organizations exploring the Finnish EU Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem. It is not the official Suomi.fi EUDI wallet of Finland and is not affiliated with DVV, Traficom, the Ministry of Finance or the European Commission.

The wallet is a tailored version of the EUDI Reference Wallet. Compatibility work is ongoing; a sandbox certificate or registration is not governmental approval, accreditation or a guarantee of production readiness.

Access and your responsibilities

Access is for registered participants using their registration email address and a one-time login code. Use the portal only if you are authorized to act for the organization you register. Keep your email account, login codes and session secure, and notify sandbox@eudi-wallet.fi of suspected unauthorized access.

Provide accurate organization, contact, identifier and service information, and keep it up to date. Only submit personal data that you are authorized and legally entitled to provide. Use synthetic test data wherever possible; do not submit real wallet credentials or sensitive personal information in free-text fields.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse login codes, impersonate another organization, bypass access restrictions, disrupt the service, distribute malicious content, or test third-party systems without permission. Your organization remains responsible for its own lawful wallet integrations and processing of personal data.

Access may be restricted or suspended to address misuse, security incidents or legal obligations. Contact us if you believe a restriction is incorrect.

Organization registration and certificates

Saving organization information sends the registration to the relying-party registry at rp.eudi-wallet.fi. Generating an Access Certificate sends its public certificate, organization identifier and selected Issuer URL or Intermediary registry URI to the whitelist service. Updates and deletions are also sent to these services.

Only one Access Certificate is maintained at a time. Generating another replaces it. Changing the Issuer URL or Intermediary registry URI requires confirmation to delete the existing certificate.

A newly generated private key is downloaded automatically and is not retained by the portal. Keep it secure and backed up: the portal cannot provide it again. Legacy certificates may have a stored key until replaced or deleted. Deleting a certificate removes its whitelist entry; it does not guarantee that every external system immediately stops accepting a previously downloaded copy.

Availability and limitations

The sandbox is experimental. Features, standards support and availability may change, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance or security reasons. It is not intended for production reliance or critical transactions.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the sandbox is provided without guarantees of uninterrupted operation, suitability for a particular purpose or compatibility with all wallets. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy and ending participation

By using the sandbox you accept that we send operational service communications, such as security, maintenance and ecosystem update notices, to your registration email. The Privacy Policy explains the data processed for the portal and your GDPR rights. You can use “Delete all information” on Organization Information to delete your organization and certificate records and request removal from the connected registry and whitelist.

That action does not delete your login account or every operational log or backup. For account deletion, personal-data requests or help ending participation, email sandbox@eudi-wallet.fi. Deleting data in the portal does not delete copies already downloaded or held independently by third parties.

Changes and contact

The date above identifies this version. Revised terms will be published on this page; material changes affecting ongoing participation should be communicated before they take effect where required by law. For service questions, contact sandbox@eudi-wallet.fi.
